Main Stage Musical

Since 2000, CMT’s Main Stage Musical has provided a tuition-free, full-scale Broadway musical experience for students ages 7-17. This five-week program offers professional instruction in acting, singing, dancing, and backstage skills, culminating in four public performances accompanied by a live orchestra.

An Unforgettable Theatre Experience

The Main Stage Musical is CMT’s longest-running and most iconic program, offering young performers the unique opportunity to participate in a professional-level production. Over five intensive weeks, students engage in daily rehearsals, learning character development, stage movement, vocal techniques, choreography, and theatre terminology. The program not only enhances artistic skills but also nurtures academic growth through memorization, teamwork, and communication exercises.

A distinctive feature of the Main Stage experience is the professional artistic staff, including directors, choreographers, and music directors brought in from outside the Bartlesville area. This ensures that students receive expert instruction and exposure to diverse teaching styles. The program also incorporates mentorship opportunities for older students interested in technical theatre or orchestral roles, fostering leadership skills and a deeper understanding of theatre production.

The culmination of the program is a spectacular, full-scale musical presented on the main stage at The Center. With elaborate sets, authentic costumes, and live orchestral accompaniment, the performances reach an audience of thousands, offering students the thrill of sharing their hard work with the community. Beyond the stage, the Main Stage Musical empowers students with lifelong skills—confidence, discipline, and creativity—while building a legacy of artistic excellence in Bartlesville.
